Gazprom books no Yamal–Europe capacities for Friday
MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has not booked capacities of the Yamal–Europe pipeline for transit of natural gas across Poland for Friday at an additional session of the capacity auction, auction platform GSA Platform showed on Friday.
Gazprom bought capacities for 27 million cubic meters of gas for December 17, for December 18, it booked 5.2 million cubic meters, for Monday 3.8 million out of available 89.1 million cubic meters. For Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Gazprom booked nothing. All the previous days in December the company booked 31.4 million cubic meters each day.
The company said earlier in the day that it delivers gas through the pipeline in accordance with customer bids and in full compliance with the contract obligations of the company.
The Yamal–Europe pipeline, along with the Nord Stream and Ukraine’s gas transportation system, is one of the key routes for Russian gas delivery to Europe. The 2,000-kilometer pipeline runs through Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany and can pump 33 billion cubic meters of gas a year.
A long-term contract between Gazprom and Poland on transit via the Yamal–Europe pipeline ended in 2020, and Gazprom started booking capacity at auctions.
